Amazon - D1 Production

LANDING PAGES & BANNER ADS

From February to December 2017, I worked on Amazon’s D1 Production Team. During my contract, I was the lead production designer for their Beauty & Luxury Beauty categories on their Amazon.com and Amazon.ca sites. I worked closely with business partners & art directors to create category landing pages, responsive digital ads and email marketing graphics. During my 10 months on the team, I designed graphics with over 15 different seasonal and categorical style guides, including assets for Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Prime Day.

Beauty & Luxe Beauty Categories

Each assignment’s brief provided copy and products to be featured. I would either work with product images provided by vendors or find appropriate stock photos to purchase for the ad. Each digital asset on amazon.com has specific requirements in terms of character count, live areas and file size restrictions for quick loading times. Every graphic made must balance the vendor’s (those purchasing the space) requests with the general website guidelines, the ad’s placement restrictions/template and the appropriate seasonal and/or categorical style guide.

LUXURY BEAUTY HOLIDAY 2017

The Luxury Beauty category had its own look and feel for the holidays. The goal was to elevate this landing page so it could compete visually with other online beauty retailers like Sephora and Ulta. In these landing pages, I photoshopped flat images of products on marbled backgrounds and “wrapped” silk ribbons around the products.

GENERAL HOLIDAY STYLEGUIDE

I created these graphics using Amazon’s 2017 holiday style guide. I was given cartoon illustrations, a color pallet, copy and products to design graphics that were featured across the main Amazon.com and the French Canadian Amazon.ca.
